The Chen 4 Step of t'ai chi ch'uan/Taijiquan, (Chinese: 太极拳; pinyin: Tàijíquán), is a short version of Tai chi composed of four (six if we count commencing and closing steps) unique movements, This Taolu it's a Basic one to learn in Chen-Style Taijiquan. Chen 4 Step is a subset of Chen Old Frame One repeated 4 times in a circular progression usually returning to start. It's Useful for confined spaces (Zhu Tian Cai), and to capture the basic 18 Form in Chen style.

  1. Commencing (Yu bei shi, 预备式), Preparatory type
  2. Buddha's Warrior Attendant Pounds Mortar (Jin gang dao zhui, 金刚捣碓)
  3. Lazily Tying Coat (Lan Zha Yi, 懒扎衣), Lazy tie clothes
  4. Six Sealing and Four Closing (Liu Feng Si Bi, 六封四闭), Six four closed
  5. Single Whip (Dān biān, 单鞭)
  6. Closing (Shōushì, 收势)
