Playing the Lute (手挥琵琶 Shǒuhūi Pípā), is a relatively uncommon posture found in t'ai chi ch'uan. Typically performed from Qi Xing Bu stance, mantains the forward (and vertical) palm at forehead height while the backward (also vertical) palm remains at the inner elbow height of the other arm.

Playing the Lute is an easy movement to learn by beginners, due to it's simplicity.

The Movement follows the Chung Ting (Central Position) technique.
