White crane
The White Crane Spreads Its Wings
(白鹤亮翅 Báihè Lìangchì), is a relatively uncommon posture found in t'ai chi ch'uan. Typically performed from Xu Bu stance, mantains the upper hand at forehead height while the lower hand remains at waist height.

White Crane Spreads Its Wings is a tricky movements/postures to learn by the beginers since it correct alignement is difficult to achieve.

The Movement follows the Lieh (Splitting) and Chung Ting (Central Position) techniques.

This posture is meant to train reflexes to use the rear hand to punch the lower area of the oponent (if it's comming from the back), or to break a grab to the upper area of oneself.
